How To Connect Wired Keyboard And Mouse To Iphone

Can I connect a wired keyboard and mouse to an Ipad?

I am considering getting an Ipad, and I would like to know if I could get both a wired keyboard and mouse for it. As much as like the idea of Bluetooth, I hate messing with batteries. I have seen various keyboards that appear to work, but no mice, and I am unsure that even if I did find a keyboard and mouse that work, that the Ipad would have enough power to send to them both.

Furthermore (and I know this might be a stretch) could I use both of these AND charge the iPad at the same time?

You can connect a wired USB keyboard using the USB Camera Connection adapter as an input device, yes. iOS doesn't support any type of mouse - as far as I understand, there's no pointer support in the OS, so the OS doesn't know what to do with it. I also haven't seen any solutions for powering the iPad and using the connection kit, but I haven't looked much at third party solutions.

I imagine there is some sort of pointer support. There are trackpads you can get.

You could technically jailbreak your ipad and then it would add mouse support. But I feel like using a mouse on an ipad is pointless because you are using a device designed for touch. Apple spent billions of dollars in R+D to design a touch based OS and you throw that away by adding a mouse to it.

You can definitely do it with a jailbreak and if I remember correctly, the mouse works in every app. I used to do it when I jailbreak my older ones back in the day and it's great. Especially with remote desktop control apps (like Teamviewer) so you can control a pc/Mac like normal. Actually, now that I've said that, I'm referring to a Bluetooth mouse, not USB, I'm not sure about USB offhand. Bluetooth worked great tho if that helps.

Hi, You can use a Bluetooth keyboard no problem and the touchscreen OS is very easy to use on the iPad - if you prefer to use a mouse you can get the Swiftpoint GT mouse to use on VMware Horizon, Splashtop Business and Personal, Jump Desktop, TeamViewer and Nulana Remotix iOS apps. It also works on Mac, Windows and Android devices so you can use it anywhere. Swiftpoint are pretty good so if you contact them and suggest an app you want a mouse, they will look into it.
